I don’t know where to begin. I guess with Full House? Well, that’s the first memory of San Francisco I have, of it being mentioned somewhere. I was super young when Full House was on and naturally, I always wished to visit SF. But not entirely because of the show or the Olsen twins, but because of all the scenery shots in the intro. I loved the vibe. The Golden Gate bridge, Alamo Square,…
One of the perks of having a boyfriend that works at a start-up is having someone you know show you the city. And having a place to live, and not worry about hotels and expenses there. I got lucky with this, I admit.
I started my 3 week vacation in SOMA, and we relocated to Forest Hill after about 10 days. These are two very different locations. Living right off Market street was great. The area is busy, there are people everywhere, a Starbucks on every corner and lots of traffic. But Forest Hill, wow, is a lot foggier and so quiet. And you never ever see people anywhere. I only saw about 5 of them all together. But the houses were all so nice, and I’m guessing very expensive. And the view was amazing, which is the good side of living on top of a hill. The only time the area wasn’t completely quiet was when the Outside Lands happened. That’s when I could hear Paul McCartney singing Ob La Di Ob La Da just by standing in the back yard. Not bad at all!
And I loved the weather. The wind was kind of killing me, my eyes at least, but the temperatures were great. I escaped the awful heat wave back at home, and jumped right into Spring in San Francisco. The summer there is always late, but I liked that I was there when the temperatures where just right in my opinion.
Overall, San Francisco is a great city. And this post is just an intro. I plan on sharing lots of pictures and thoughts with you in the future posts!
