orange apple peel tea

Make use of apple peels with this aromatic apple peel tea.
Recipe makes about 1 liter (4 cups) of tea.

Ingredients

  • 6 apple peels and cores (from medium apples)
  • 1200ml (5 cups) water
  • juice of 1 large orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • for serving: honey, lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Place apple peels, cores, water, orange juice and a cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Lower the heat to medium and let tea simmer for about 15 minutes, until the water turns to a nice orange-yellow color (you’ll also notice the peels lose some of their color as they cook).
  3. Strain through a sieve and serve.
