Hot chocolate protein coffee

Add protein powder to coffee and make this hot chocolate protein coffee. Gives you a boost of energy and makes a perfect breakfast or snack addition.

Ingredients

  • 240ml (1 cup) freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) milk (I like regular milk or hazelnut for a dairy-free option)
  • 30g (2 TBSPs | one scoop) whey chocolate protein powder (available on Amazon)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons maple syrup, more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)
  • a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender (or use an immersion blender with a designated jar) and blend on high speed until all ingredients are combined, the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  2. Pour into a mug, add a dash of cinnamon (optional) and enjoy!

Notes

Use any coffee that you normally drink, as long as it’s filtered (you don’t want coffee grounds mixed in!). Even instant coffee works. Just prepare it according to the package instructions and once you have that cup of coffee, you can proceed with the recipe.
